Governing out of anger?

Let’s face it, folks. Taxing AIG bonuses retroactively at 90 percent is unconstitutional. Just about everyone, with the possible exception of Barney Frank, realizes this, even if it isn’t popular to say it.
I assume this is why President Obama seems to be looking for a way to deftly back away from the issue. On Sunday, Fox quoted White House advisers saying the president, “Won’t govern out of anger.” (See the story here.)
But as the video below makes clear, Obama is responsible for helping to jump-start the anger. He seems to be rallying people to get their pitchforks and torches, which has literally led to protests in front of AIG executives’ houses.
Considering the complicity of Congress and the White House (both under Obama and Bush) in the AIG bonus scandal, this was nothing more than political opportunism. But considering how the nation may need to help AIG some more in order to avoid greater economic problems, it was nothing short of toxic.
What do you think?
